Red Carpet Updates and Patches

STANDARD SECURITY LOGON:

This update will configure a Red Carpet 2.32 Client PC to use the standard security access model. Updating RCLogon.exe.

NO SECURITY LOGON:

This update will configure a Red Carpet 2.32 Client PC to use the no security access model. Updating RCLogon.exe.

STANDARD STORAGE SUB-SYSTEM:

This update will configure a Red Carpet 2.32 Client PC to use the standard storage sub-system. Updating RCStorage.exe.

RESTRICTED VOLUME STORAGE SUPPORT:

This update will configure a Red Carpet 2.32 Client PC to use the Ascent Storage Restricted Volume storage sub-system, for backwards compatibility, but only from a Read Only perspective. Updating RCStorage.exe.

IMPROVED DATABASE PERFORMANCE:

These updates will improve the underlying database performance for the various Red Carpet 2.32 modules. Updating RCDatabase.exe in patch 5 and RCDatabase.exe and RCDatabaseServer.exe in patch 6. RCDatabase.exe is used by Red Carpet Administration, Client, Scan, Server Side Filer and the Image Cache Server. Additionally, RCDatabaseServer.exe is used in both Server Side Filer and the Image Cache Server.

IMPROVED DOCUMENT PROCESSOR PERFORMANCE:

This update will improve the performance of the Red Carpet 2.32 Web Client and Image Cache Server by increasing the performance of the underlying Document Processor with respect to annotated documents and including new functionality allowing the resizing of the output images. Updating RCDocumentProcessor.dll and RCDPSetup.exe.

ENHANCED IMAGE CACHING OPTIONS:

This update will add further image cache options to the Red Carpet Image Cache Server. Updating RCImageCacheSVR.exe and including the improved Document Processor. The available image actions will then be:

0 : Cache page without annotations.
1 : Cache page with black and white annotations.
2 : Cache page with colour annotations.
3 : Create image cache information file.
4 : As 3, but also request to cache all pages for the document without annotations.
5 : As 3, but also request to cache all pages for the document with black and white annotations.
6 : As 3, but also request to cache all pages for the document with colour annotations.

EDITING INDEX INFORMATION:

This update will resolve error 3001 whilst editing index information in the Red Carpet 2.32 Client, 'Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another'. Updating HRHIndex.dll.

LAUNCHING EXPLORER FROM FILER:

This update will resolve Red Carpet Filer failing to launch explorer in a Terminal Services or Citrix Metaframe session. Additional functionality has also been added which will allow users to launch Windows Explorer or to browse for files from the popup menu within Red Carpet Filer. Updating RCFiler.exe and including the latest indexing DLL.

IGNORING INTERNET BROWSER VERSION CHECK:

This update will remove the internet browser version check when the Red Carpet Web Client is first accessed. This does not affect the supported configurations and therefore Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or above is still required. This update also changes the method of displaying and resizing the top and side bars of the viewer window. Updating RCWebClient.dll, Default.aspx, RCMain.aspx, RCViewer.aspx and RCCommon.js..

LOGON SERVER:

This update addresses some reliability issues experienced on some server and network configurations with the Red Carpet Logon Server. Updating RCLogonSVR.exe.
